Typical Working Settings
Normally biomedical engineers work a regular week of 40 hours. They work around 10-12 hours a day. Occasionally extra work may need to be completed, so they may stay back overtime. Biomedical engineers can work in a variety of places such as in offices, labs, universities, hospitals, government agencies, and biomedical equipment manufacturing factories.
The only traveling a biomedical engineer would normally do is if visiting clients or manufacturing sites. Though there could be long periods of time away from home if necessary If working at companies where travel is required such as ORBIS, traveling all over the world is required for around 45 weeks a year, or about 80% of the time.
